Edwina Kimball, Sr. Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Accounting & Admin Team Manager shared the following insights about her team and what makes them a critical component of BDK’s business and our customers’ success.
What is the Accounting & Admin team’s primary function at BDK Inc.?
The primary function of the Accounting & Admin Team at BDK, Inc. is to provide financial and administrative support for the organization. This includes overseeing accounts receivable and payables, as well as managing the company’s budget and finances. Additionally, the team may manage internal and external community and employee initiatives, such as benefits, employee onboarding, and office organization.
Who is the team comprised of?
As a small business, the Accounting & Admin Team is comprised of dedicated and shared resources throughout BDK, Inc. Our Administrative Assistant and CEO work together on billing, while our Senior Operations Administrator supports contracts, and our accountants handle accounts payable and receivable. Additionally, we team up with our Project Manager on contract deadlines, time entry, and other tasks for customers.
What is the best part of being on the Accounting & Admin team?
The best part of being part of the Accounting & Admin Team is the sense of camaraderie and pride in helping everyone else in the company succeed. We have a great team of task-oriented individuals who are always the first to step up and take on the challenge. Everyone has their own specialized role, whether it’s Peggy (accountant) helping with inventory or Melanie (administrative assistant) keeping the office stocked. It’s really rewarding to be part of a team that takes proactive measures to help BDK, Inc. be more successful.

Our team is friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions you may have about contracts, billing, and other matters. If you could pick a mascot to represent your team, what would it be and why?
I would pick a Golden Retriever as a mascot for the Accounting & Admin team because it is a symbol of loyalty, companionship, and intelligence. Golden Retrievers are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to retrieve information and help out. They are also incredibly clever, making them perfect for problem solving and creative thinking. Plus, their cheerful and friendly demeanor makes them a great team mascot.
